Mutiple Redunancy Power

A significant factor for selecting the Quadrant Building to house the Perth iX Data Centre was the presence of overlapping power grids. The mains power feeds into two Liebert Hipulse 200kva 12 Pulse Uninterruptible Power Supplies running in parallel. Should there be any issue with this primary power feed, Perth iX has its own 706kva diesel generator which will automatically switch into the circuit to feed the UPS.

Remote monitoring is enabled on both UPS. Network Operations Centre staff are alerted via SMS for particular events or if pre-set thresholds are reached. There is regular maintenance of UPS and power related equipment, including generator fail-over testing which takes place every three months.

In the event of a prolonged power outage, two separate supply contracts are held for resupply of diesel fuel to ensure ongoing power. At Perth iX, you can rest assured that your equipment will continue running day in, day out, keeping your business online.
