Data Options

Perth iX has connectivity with a number of ISPs which include Telstra, WorldCom, Swiftel, Uecom, Amcom and PowerTel. In addition, Perth iX is one of only two WAIX (Western Australian Internet Exchange) POP's in WA. This is supported by an additional 1Gbps connection to WAIX via dark fibre. As a carrier neutral data centre, Perth iX will permit all carriers access to the data centre facility provided they meet security and access policies that protect our customers.

Perth iX is an Internet Service Provider in its own right and delivers access via our Cisco Powered Network. Perth iX has three main upstream providers including WAIX, Bright and Soul. Redundant paths to the Internet allow the data centre to fulfil its service level obligations and provides greater assurance for customers who rely on the Internet for their business.

Managed Firewall Services

Perth iX offers best of breed firewall security via dual redundant Firewalls that are managed by our team of in house experts ensuring complete protection from unwanted attacks.

Our engineers work with our clients to establish a firewall profile tailored to your exact requirements and will only make changes to your profile with appropriate authorisation. Depending on the package chosen, you can change your settings once a month, as required, or simply set and forget. Our Cisco PIX Firewalls deliver superior performance of up to 500,000 simultaneous connections and nearly 1.7 Gigabits per second (Gbps) aggregate throughput while providing customers with world-class security.

Secure Offsite Backup

Having a well planned backup strategy is the most effective way to protect your vital data. With the sophistication of hacks and viruses continually improving, regularly backing up and storing your data has never been more important.

Perth iX provides complete nightly backup, storage and retrieval services for your data by utilising a powerful suite of technologies paired with our backup best practices. Tapes are stored off site with a security firm and are rotated on a daily basis. A number of options are available ranging from Daily Tape Rotation on Customer Provided Equipment to a full backup on Perth iX operated backup systems.

Needs Analysis

Because every operation is unique, our engineers conduct a comprehensive needs analysis of your backup requirements. This evaluation examines all relevant backup issues, including pertinent regulatory rules, backup volume, time requirements and other variables.

Storage Alternatives

We offer a number of data storage alternatives, including on and off-site storage with reliable security. If needed, we can also manage long-term storage or the transport of media to customer facilities. Clustered storage devices can be deployed to meet the needs of high-volume, high-value data backup applications.
